St. Meinrad of Einsideln

Meinrad was a hermit at Einsiedeln, Switzerland. In 861, two men to whom he had given hospitality murdered him. Meinrad is considered in some ways the founder of the Benedictine Abbey at Einsiedeln, although he did not make the foundation. St. Meinrad’s feast is January 21.
